Collins Aerospace Head up Guidance Systems (HGS) in Wilsonville, Oregon is looking for a software co-op to help support software development and verification efforts in our engineering organization. Our software engineering organization is primarily responsible for the requirements, design, implementation, and verification of HGS functionality, in a highly structured environment that is compliant with the standards for certified, safety-critical flight software. This position will provide valuable exposure to the safety critical software development environment and processes as well as a familiarity with our products and avionics in general.
The student will work closely with several software engineers to understand and contribute to the software development and verification activities gaining familiarity with the associated tools.
Activities may include:
Debug flight critical software and perform associated system integration activities in a laboratory or a simulation environment.
Develop requirement-based test procedures.
Verify software performance through structural coverage analysis.
Prepare software design documents, test procedures, and traceability matrices.
Execute test procedures in support of formal software verification efforts.
Develop and/or improve tools used to support development or verification activities.
Successful candidate will:
Have excellent problem solving and time management skills.
Have familiarity with Agile development environment and related tools.
Experience in programming languages C, Python, Perl is highly desired.
Strong software and hardware debugging skills are preferred.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
