Successful candidate will be involved in working with a multi-disciplined, technical design and project management team in executing the engineering design process for commercial aerospace-based mechanical systems. The candidate will work closely with the supply base, in mainly a project management role, in a fast-paced engineering environment, who is required to design, develop and manufacture aerospace components in support of the PurePower program.
Job Responsibilities:* Project management / IPT mechanical component engineer.* Mechanical design, including generation of drawings, specifications and summary reports.* Interfacing with suppliers, customers and members of the technical design team.* Work with technical staff to manage the design and integration of complex mechanical assemblies on PurePower engines.* Executing tasks aligned with the engineering standard work tool, developing and communicating through powerpoint presentations to suppliers, internal management and customer.* Working knowledge of the PW Configuration Control Board (CCB).* Test support, including writing test plans, procedures and designing test fixtures.* Support formal design reviews and presentations to customer.* Contribute to proposals and technical leadership on new business opportunities.* Compliance with budget and schedule is essential.Selected candidate must accept ownership of the products design and development while satisfying the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.Basic Qualifications:• Must be a U.S. Citizen• Bachelor’s degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR• In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to work in a highly structured environment, with frequent supplier, customer and stakeholder interaction.
Experience with cost account management a plus.
Successful candidate will possess a positive "can do" attitude, good presentation skills, empathic listening skills, respect for others, confidence and patience
