The candidate will assist with development and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies for a wide variety of aerospace related product opportunities using a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) tollgate process as a key metric for the advancement of new technologies.
Perform physical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal characterization of alloy powders and additively built structures
Use of laboratory analytical tools such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, profilometry, thermal analyses (TGA/DTA/DSC), and particle size distribution
Assist in development and implementation of process automation and data management tools
Write standard operating procedures
Apply professional knowledge of engineering principles and techniques, standardized mathematical methods, and previous design and test information to the resolution of technical problems.
Conduct laboratory and research investigations when needed under the guidance of your lab supervisor.
Assist in the preparation of technical reports to summarize data and present conclusions.
Pursuit of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Materials Science / Engineering, Metallurgy, or related program of study at an accredited college or university.
Must be able to verify U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Ability to understand basic technical issues and develop solutions within scope of responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Students pursuing advanced degrees (MS or PhD) preferred.
Prior related internship experience highly preferred.
