Ensures that the quality of Collins Aerospace products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Function as a liaison between the customer and Collins Aerospace to address quality concerns.

  • Use customer/internal metrics and ZDP methodology to create, lead, and/or implement improvements that drive customer satisfaction.

  • Lead investigations to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, contractual, customer and business requirements.

  • Support the incorporation of ZDP 3.0 (AS9145) to the EACS Business Unit.

  • Develop and implement containment, root cause and corrective actions (product and systemic).

  • Communicate improvement plans and progress to the organization and customers.

  • Provide interpretation of complex requirements. Drive resolution of conflicts and clarification in requirement flow-down.

  • Participate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to drive resolution of quality issues which may impact product performance and/or delivery results.

  • Lead sites and teams to effective improvements using various ACE/Lean/Six Sigma Tools; RCCA, PFMEA, SPC, DMAIC, DIVE, 8D, Gage R&R, VSM, Kaizen, and the like.

  • Drives processes to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.

  • Provides analysis and guidance to ensure quality standards are in effect.

  • Implements testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes.

  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and design problems for internally produced products & processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must be a US Person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Experience with the review of contractual requirements

  • Understanding of engineering drawing requirements

  • AS9100D or other Industry Standard experience
