The position will require maintaining daily activities of an office environment (i.e. ordering office supplies, maintaining Security files, answering all incoming inquiries e-mail, phone, fax, etc.) including generation, receipt, wrapping, marking and transmission of classified material for collateral and special program material. Provide security guidance in marking and protection of classified material to assure compliance with government regulations.

Oversee and manage DISS and eQIP systems to ensure timely and accurate submittals of personnel security clearances to the government. Candidate must be a team player and be able to adapt to working in a rapidly changing business requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Candidate for this position will require working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (32 CFR NISPOM) which is the baseline for protecting and safeguarding classified information and systems. Candidate will support the Center of Excellence providing administrative support for the Collins Government Security Organization in Windsor Locks, CT and other organizations as required. Responsibilities will include assisting with processing Department of Defense and Special Program government security clearances, digital fingerprinting, tracking all required security education training, document control, physical security, and support Insider Threat Awareness program to include developing and reviewing reports, maintaining, and handling classified information, processing classified and unclassified visit authorizations or other duties as requested by the manager. The Security Assistant will report directly to the Manager, Government Security Compliance.

Assist in conducting security self-inspections to ensure compliance with government regulations and requirements for DoD collateral and special programs. Respond to deficiencies/findings discovered during audits to non-compliant employees and follow up with appropriate corrective actions. Conduct daily audits of the Foreign National Sign In/Out process. Investigate non-compliant employees and follow up with appropriate corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A working knowledge or experience utilizing DISS and eQIP systems preferred. Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills both verbal and written. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance. Employment is subject to clearances being approved and granted.
