The Senior Software Systems Engineer is an embedded engineer leading software system design for next generation control systems. The Senior Software Systems Engineer is responsible for creating and refining software architectures for embedded systems, as well as leading design efforts for modularized software components in safety critical products designed to DO-178C standards.
The Senior Engineer conducts and coordinates software development activities, complex tests and debugs systems with control and diagnostic capabilities. The Senior Engineer makes recommendations to management on ways to improve cost and quality of software products. The Senior Engineer implements critical software system capabilities, prepares and presents design reviews and coordinates software development activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
Work with modular design principles
Work with model-based design, multi-core processors and real-time operating systems
Create and refine software architectures for embedded control and diagnostic systems
Conduct and coordinate design and implementation efforts for software components designed to DO-178C standards
Conduct and coordinate software verification testing activities for embedded control and diagnostic systems
Debug systems with control and diagnostic capabilities
Make recommendations to management on ways to improve cost and quality of software products
Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and function.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of control and diagnostic systems
Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
Ensures hardware and software standards are met.
May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
Includes control modeling (model based design).
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Experience leading teams through the process of developing software capabilities
Demonstrated proficiency with modular design principles
Experience with model-based design, multi-core processors and real-time operating systems
Experience in cybersecurity
Experience designing to DO-178C standards
Experience with embedded control and diagnostic systems
Experience with configuration management tools
Demonstrated experience debugging systems with control and diagnostic capabilities
