The Structural Engineer intern assists engineers in performing structural analysis of ES components and systems , including linear static, dynamic, non-linear, transient, thermal and fatigue life and fracture mechanics predictions. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with performing structural engineering analysis including linear static, dynamic and thermal analysis to ensure products meet structural engineering requirements.

  • Assist engineers in post-processing and documentation of structural analysis results including HCF, LCF and damage tolerance.

  • Provide engineering support to component/product testing and analyzing test data.

  • Generate and/or edit structures documentation including new structural methods/processes, workflow and standard work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Use of finite element modeling tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, Nastran or equivalent

  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD tools including, UG NX, CATIA or equivalent

  • Experience in Python, Unix, Matlab, FORTRAN or other programming languages is a plus

  • Some experience in additive manufacturing

  • Some experience in design and analysis of heat exchangers

  • Demonstrated success working independently and within a team enviroment and is self-motivated

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
