This role will serve to support leaders by defining and articulating business needs and translating them into HR strategies and tactics. The position will play a major role in managing the implementation of HR initiatives and annual processes across engineering, technology and digital employee groups within the Interiors SBU… such as salary planning, organizational restructuring, leadership development and succession planning. The individual will work closely with senior leadership to consult on HR matters and to orchestrate HR services via HR COE and GPS resource teams.

This individual will ideally work onsite at Collins Winston-Salem, NC location or on the East Coast. The individual can also potentially work a hybrid model (remote plus onsite).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consults with leaders on HR matters ranging from design to implementation of HR initiatives and major annual HR processes. Works with HR subject matter experts and collaboratively with other HR business partners to ensure that programs are being planned to address engineering, technology and digital organizational / people needs

  • Coordinate and manages the succession planning process within a given business unit/shared service

  • Manages the planning and analysis of salary planning, workforce planning, employee training and diversity initiatives

  • P rovides facilitation and change management consultation to leadership teams and employee groups

  • Coordinates and manages the restructuring efforts of the organization and will be required to consult on organization design, job level and title changes with appropriate COE’s in HR.

  • Will ensure technical talent across the Interior’s SBU is optimized through a combination of strategic training initiatives, talent selection and development, succession planning and talent sourcing (enterprise Co-op and intern programs, diversity hiring, university relations etc).

  • Must work collaboratively across three business portfolios to drive the engineering/technology and digital people strategies

  • The role will have one direct report that sits in India

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Ability to set direction, make effective decisions, and influence and motivate others to achieve business objectives; ability to successfully manage in a matrix organization

  • Ability to understand key business principles, strategies, and priorities and link these to HR strategies, deliverables and processes to support BU/SS objectives

  • Ability to think conceptually, understand interrelationships and root causes, reconcile enterprise needs with those of the BU/SS and employees, and develop and align strategies with implementation plans

  • Ability to coach, consult and influence leaders regarding the importance of good “people” practices and the links to business success; Ability to conduct effective presentations, facilitate meetings and build teams

  • Ability to understand the total HR framework from strategy through implementation; Possesses reasonably broad HR domain knowledge in areas such as Leadership Development, Change Management, Employee Effectiveness, M&A, Lean Electronics, Compensation, and recruiting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to anticipate, resolve and follow through on business problems and “get the job done” utilizing all the resources at their disposal

  • Ability to establish goals, organize resources and develop and manage plans which support business objectives

  • Ability to understand and relate with a technical workforce and leadership team and the unique issues associated with attracting & retaining technical talent, including compensation, career development and talent management. Ideal experience would include HR support of engineering or technically inclined workforce as an HR generalist, business partner and/or experience as a technical manager/leader.
