- Under little or no supervision, perform all duties necessary to set up, repair, and maintain equipment, building, and grounds. Keep records of work as required.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Working from wiring diagrams, hydraulics/pneumatics, schematics, specifications, blueprints, and verbal and written orders, lay out, install, test, repair, and maintain all types of plant equipment to include hydraulic/pneumatic equipment and supply lines
Make ordinary machining tools or parts as required
Move materials, parts, and tools as required
Install and maintain wiring and conduit and test circuits for continuity.
Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, pipefitting, and masonry on equipment, building fixtures, perimeter and road or walkways
Design hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
Wire three phase motors, three-phase buss ducts, and transformers for step up or step down
Troubleshoot CNC equipment to determine if servo pack or servo drive is bad.
Troubleshoot to circuit board level
Drive Company or other authorized vehicles when necessary
Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits, pneumatic logic, electromechanical interface circuits, dryer cooler chillers, and air compressors
Ensure conformance to blue prints, written procedures, and quality specifications
Read and interpret schematics to lower grade mechanics
Fabricate parts and modify equipment as needed
Perform equal or lower graded duties as required
Make periodic preventative maintenance checks and inspection for safe operation of equipment and other utility systems
Maintain a clean and safe work area and report all discrepancies to management.
TYPICAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT INVOLVED:
- Including but not limited to voltage testers, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, stroboscopes, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, trucks, cranes, hoist, hand tools, welding tools, and other similar equipment and tools.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of equivalent maintenance experience, which includes proficiency in electronics and electrical systems
Must thoroughly understand and be proficient in the basic fundamentals of electronics technology. Such knowledge shall include, but not be limited to, solid state troubleshooting and repair; replacement of parts and assemblies; repair of computer controlled, computer assisted, and/or programmable controlled equipment PLC.
Knowledge of applicable building and maintenance codes
Ability to build timing circuits and control valve circuits
Ability to modify equipment upgrades to PLC, etc.
Ability to program and alter parameters of a PLC
Ability to plan a job for material and labor content, and train others in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Knowledge of electricity – pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
Possession of an electrician license
Associate’s degree in electrical systems
