Raytheon Technologies Section Leader - Field Operations in Woburn, Massachusetts
The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.
The Raytheon Missiles and Defense Whole Life Engineering Field Operations (FO) Section Leader will be responsible for leading a diverse and globally located team of approximately 30 employees, responsible for:
Site leadership of Raytheon-produced systems
Site Business Administration
Depot and Repair Logistics Leadership
Approximately half of these personnel are currently assigned to Raytheon Global Personnel Solutions (GPS), an enterprise-wide shared services organization, and are deployed to Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) international locations. The remainder of the section is Continental United States (CONUS) based in PMO or Field Services roles.
In this role the FO Section Leader will be responsible for managing:
Generation of hiring requisitions to bring on new employees, including coordinating interviews and leading candidate selection
On-boarding new employees, including driving an understanding of Raytheon’s Matrix environment and alignment of WLE with Programs serviced
Facilitating career paths of personnel managed
Ensuring team is properly trained to execute the scope of their tasks
Maintaining processes that leverage best practices across programs
Aligning teams to maximize individual strengths
Identifying unfavorable performance trends and develop/manage corrective actions
Recognizing favorable performance trends through Achievement Awards, Leadership team reports and the performance review process
Coordinating Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) status including anticipated completion dates
Coordinating repatriation of employees from program MOUs, including support to identifying new work within or external to WLE
As the Section Leader your responsibilities will also include:
Providing oversight of employee issue resolution
Providing compliance with company policy and procedures, timecard approvals, development and administration of performance appraisals, merit increases and promotions
Providing oversight of the quality and timeliness of work products produced within the section
Leading staff Section meetings.
Because employees are located overseas, this position will require regular interaction during off-hours and collaboration with program offices or MOU administrators during on-hours.
Your success will be measured by your ability to shape employee expectations, maintain alignment with program management and facilitate the on / off-boarding process.
You will be required to personally support program Logistics, Repair or Maintenance tasks for approximately 75% of your time. Some travel may be required.
This role may be considered for a Flexible Work Arrangement, including work from home for up to 3 days per week and/or reduced work hours, upon a mutually agreed to plan and approval by the Hiring Leader.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
8+ years’ experience with Logistics, Equipment Repair or Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing or Proposals in a military or civilian environment
At a Grade G10, 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
Experience with evaluating program management reports, using tools such as Estimates at Completion or Variance Analysis Reports
US Citizenship is required
Overseas deployment experience
Ability to negotiate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) for deploying personnel
Ability to motivate team members by providing an open environment conducive for each employee to reach his/her full potential
Six Sigma Specialist qualification
Must have effective interpersonal communication skills and a proven ability to handle stressful situations
Demonstrated ability to shape expectations in written and oral settings
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple Customer, Program and Functional organizations
Experience with hiring talent, including writing job requisitions, interacting with Talent Acquisition and conducting interviews
Earned Value certification
Basis of Estimate (BOE) Certification
BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics
