Conducts inspections of products (parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, instruments, etc.) to validate compliance to design data requirements which include drawings, specifications, and contract requirements at predetermined steps in the manufacturing process using basic inspection methods and tools.
Set up and operate inspection equipment including CMM’s, roundness/straightness equipment and surface analyzer.
Inspect features using optical comparators.
Perform audits on certified operators per the QMS requirements.
Understand all Geometric callouts and how to inspect to requirements.
Perform preliminary review of discrepant product
Perform shipping/receiving/final inspection
Use of company QN computer systems
Have basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.
May have contact with coolants and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal inspection process.
Reads, interprets and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints and other documentation.
Performs receiving, in-process, final inspection & 1st article approval of manufactured, assembled, and tested hardware and components.
Operates computer systems to perform inspection tasks (e.g. Teamcenter, Solumina, SAP, Autotime)
Verifies all work order documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Administers visual and physical inspections of units and subassemblies.
Performs administrative tasks associated with files management.
Role may require standing/walking, lift/carry up to 35lbs, bending/twisting, kneeling/squatting/crawling, reaching, grasping/gripping/pinching/fine manipulation
Use push carts and pallet jacks to move hardware.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Basic computer skills, i.e. login, email, internet, MS Office
SAP, Solumina, IndySoft, Teamcenter
Basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.
Ability to use basic measuring instruments and hand tools, i.e. calipers, gauges, etc.
Basic math skills
Ability to read blueprints and drawings
Read and write English at a level sufficient to perform job functions
