NDT Inspector shall apply all basic principles, methods, equipment, operating procedures and inspection techniques to products requiring specific methods of non-destructive testing per applicable specifications and/or instruction.

* Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of $2,000 to be paid out in two $1,000 increments - the first $1000 after successfully completing your 90 day probation period and the second $1000 after one year of continuous employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.

  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified.

  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.

  • Capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees, Level 1, or Level 1 “Limited” personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified.

  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods as utilized by Collins Aerospace.

  • Be capable of developing and documenting NDT work instructions. All NDT work instructions require Responsible Level 3 approval.

  • Must be able to pass written and physical exams for each specific NDT method. Shall pass re-certification exam on a 5 year interval.

  • Have basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.

  • Calibration Support

  • Role may require standing/walking, lift/carry up to 35lbs, bending/twisting, kneeling/squatting/crawling, reaching, grasping/gripping/pinching/fine manipulation

  • Role may require using push carts and pallet jacks to move hardware.

  • Role may require knee control to operate Magnaflux machines

  • Contact with oils and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications)

  • Ability to use basic measuring instruments and hand tools

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add and subtract decimals)

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions

  • Mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology or previous equivalent work experience in NDT desired.
